Gyokuo is a Japanese shaded green tea. The tea trees were shaded 20-30 days prior to harvesting and processing. This process keeps the tea leaves smaller and collects nutrients in that state to provide the consumer with greater nutrients, flavor, and aroma. MN Tea's Organic Premium Gyokuro is JAS Certified. It is also tea from the first flush of the year (Ichibancha) which is the best harvest of the year for green tea. The brewed leaves which has a similar taste to spinach can be eaten for more nutritional benefits from the tea.

Brewing instruction:

- Amount: 1 1/2 tablespoons (7-8g)- Water Temperature: 160°F (71°C) for 2 minutes or 120°F (49 °C) for 4 minutes

- Amount of water: 200 ml (7.04 fl oz)

Gyokuro has a sweet and creamy umami taste. Brew with low temperature to enhance the sweetness and avoid any bitter taste. Can serve with ice for a cold drink. If use with ice, brew longer for a stronger taste in account for the dilution of ice.
